Rachel MacKenzie, PA-C

My name is Rachel MacKenzie, and I’m excited to be joining the team as a Physician Assistant. I have recently completed my PA training at Emory University after earning my degree from UCLA. I have been looking forward to educating patients on preventative health measures and fostering long term relationships with my patients.

Outside of work, I love being outdoors, whether that’s hiking, cycling, snowboarding, or running with my Brittany Spaniel. I am excited to meet you all and get to know the community I now get to serve!

Dr. Alexi Johnson

Dr. Johnson received her medical degree from Western University of Health Sciences – College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific Northwest in Lebanon, Oregon. Following this she completed her internship and residency at Louisiana State University Family Medicine Residency in Kenner, Louisiana.

Dr. Johnson is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.  Special interests within family medicine include sports medicine, pediatric care, and obesity medicine. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, gardening, and downhill and cross-country skiing.

As a DO (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine) Dr. Johnson specializes in Osteopathic Manual Manipulation (OMM). This is a hands-on treatment technique designed to improve musculoskeletal pain from a variety of causes. Dr. Johnson will often use this in addition to traditional treatment plans (medications, physical therapy, etc) to help the body heal and recover from whatever the source of pain is. This is a non-invasive treatment and often Dr. Johnson will provide stretches or exercises to do at home after performing OMM specific to the dysfunction that she treats. While some techniques used are the same as chiropractic treatments, Dr. Johson also has a multitude of low-impact manipulation techniques that can be used that only DO’s can perform. Common problems that OMM may be able to help are neck pain, headaches and back pain.

Jenn Wahlquist, PA-C

Jenn is a native to North Idaho, born and raised in Coeur d’Alene. She has bachelor’s degrees in biology, chemistry, and medical laboratory sciences. She completed physician assistant training through the University of Washington School of Medicine. She has a passion for family medicine & women’s health. She emphasizes a patient-centered approach to health care. She is an advocate for outdoor wellness, with interests in mountain biking and snowboarding, reflecting a commitment to promoting a balanced and active lifestyle.

Emilie Kuster, NP

Emilie Kuster was born and raised in Sandpoint, Idaho. She worked as a nurse in Seattle before completing her doctorate in nursing practice at the University of Washington. She worked in family medicine on the Olympic Peninsula before returning to Sandpoint. Emilie enjoys women’s/adolescent health and helping  guide lifestyle changes to maintain or regain wellness. She enjoys skiing, trail running, and playing in the lake.

William Thurston, MD

Dr. Thurston grew up in St. Maries, Idaho. He graduated from the University of Idaho with a degree in anthropology before receiving his medical training through the University of Washington WWAMI program. He completed his family medicine training at the Kootenai Clinic Coeur d’Alene Family Medicine Residency. He enjoys taking care of people at all stages of life and helping people work towards a healthy lifestyle. In his free time, he enjoys running, biking, soccer, and skiing. 

Hannah Raynor, MD

Dr. Raynor graduated from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in Madison, WI.  She continued her training in Family Medicine at the Kootenai Clinic Coeur d’Alene Family Medicine Residency Program, graduating in 2018.  Special interests within family medicine include women’s health, pediatrics, and preventative medicine.  In her free time Dr. Raynor enjoys skiing, mountain biking and Crossfit.

Dan Meulenberg, MD

He completed his medical training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After residency in Boise, he did an additional year of training with an emphasis on pediatrics. He is active in training medical students and residents, and also helps provide mental health care in the community. 

Zach Halversen, MD

Dr. Halversen is a Board-Certified Family Physician who graduated from St. George’s Medical School.  During his residency he found that he really enjoys women’s health and working with adolescents.  In his free time he enjoys biking, hiking, water skiing, and spending time with his family. 

Scott Dunn, MD

Originally from Colorado, he attended school at the Oregon Health Sciences University and then completed residency in Spokane. He enjoys pediatrics, sports medicine, and diabetic care. He serves as medical adviser and volunteers at the Bonner Partners in Care Clinic for the area’s uninsured. In his free time he enjoys competing in triathlons, skiing and travel.
